I started showing Chihuahuas with my grandmother in the mid 1970’s (I was still in school at this stage).  One of my biggest wins during the early years was with my smoothcoat dog Ch. Thesquires Lil’ Dazzler whose wins included Best of Breed at the 1982 Royal Melbourne Show.  I was also successful with classes in group and classes in show with my Chihuahuas.

In 1980 I registered my own kennel prefix “Vilenchi”, and was invited onto the committee of the Chihuahua Club of S.A. Inc (at only 15 years old).  By 1990 I had graduated from University and got my first job.  A few years later, I bought my own home on a few acres to pursue my other passion – breeding and racing Thoroughbred Racehorses.  During this period of my life, the Chihuahuas gradually faded out.

In 1998 I was invited onto the committee of the Chihuahua Club of S.A. Inc. as Treasurer, and to help organize the first ever National Chihuahua Championship Show in Australia.  As you can probably guess, during the excitement leading up to and during the National, the Chihuahua bug bit again (it probably never really went away).

After spending many, many hours studying video tapes, working out which dogs, and which lines I liked, and which ones had the ability to have a significant impact on the breed, I finally purchased my two foundation brood bitches.  By mating these girls to some of the best stud dogs around (in my opinion), I have carefully established my successful line. 

My aim is to consistantly produce sound, typey Chihuahuas with outgoing personalities.  To achieve this I have incorporated the best Chihuahua lines in Australia into my pedigrees, and have begun to incorprate some of the best lines from around the world.
